Types of Artes: All Artes that amplify or do variable damage are effective against Fiends. Aura Artes: Artes that grant a special effect within two tiles of the user. These Artes can only be used once every three turns, last for three turns, and are instantly cancelled if the user is downed. Aura Artes can also be freely dismissed, but will not come off cooldown even if immediately dismissed. If the Arte user is downed, they must wait a full three turns to reactivate their Arte and upon the natural end of the Aura, the Arte user must wait one turn to reactivate their Aura. Artes that are elementally-themed qualify as the appropriate tiles for the Geomancer's Earth Divination. Example Arte: Raincaller: Every three turns as a free action, the user can call in a rainstorm that grants all allies within two spaces +15 Hit/Eva and heal allies for 10 HP at the beginning of the turn. Amplification Artes: Artes that amplify attacks. These Artes last either for the entire turn or until the end of the Phase, depending on their effects and have a cooldown of three turns. Example Arte: Sharpening: By using a free action the user can Sharpen their weapon for the rest of the turn, ignoring all DEF/RES modifiers and Damage Reduction, as well as increasing their range to 2. Ability Artes: Artes that are in themselves active skills, acting like a weapon or a consumable item. Their cooldowns are variable and dependent on the type of Arte and its effects, and can have HP costs attached. Example Artes: Restoration: The user may heal an adjacent ally for 10+(half of the user's STR) HP at the cost of 10 of their own HP. They cannot target themselves with Restoration. Absorption: The user absorbs half the damage they take per turn in a gauge (max damage equals one quarter of their MHP). They may activate this skill to expend all of the absorbed damage as a bonus to their next attack. Passive Artes: Artes that are always active. These always have lesser effects than Artes that must be activated. Example Arte: Crystalisation: Takes 10 less damage from attack from Range 2. Deployment Artes: Artes that must be deployed somewhere on the field to work. These Artes have variable cooldowns dependent on what the Arte does. Deployment Artes can only be deployed within two spaces of their user but continue to have effects outside of this range. Example Artes: Dark Banquet: As a free action, the user may deploy the Shadow, which copies the user's stats and equipped weapon but only has half of the user's MHP. When the Shadow is defeated, the user cannot deploy it again for another three turns starting from its defeat. Totem: Once per three turns, the user can deploy a Totem adjacent to any ally within three spaces. Within the eight-square radius around the Totem, allies regain 10 HP per turn. The Totem lasts for three turns or until an enemy attacks it. Skill Artes: Artes that emulate an existing Character or Class Skill. While not having cooldowns, they can have costs depending on what the Arte does. Artes that grant access to B-rank weapons and above are capped at C-rank before Promoted Tier. Example Arte: Volcano: The user always has an S-Rank in Fire outside of their existing proficiencies, and can use any Fire Tome at the cost of HP. Other: Artes that do not fall under any of the above categories. These Artes are subject to closer scrutiny by the GM. Example Arte: Full Contact: The user has S-rank in one chosen subcategory of Fists. In addition, they may choose to channel the effect of another Ailment staff through their fists by paying 1 QL from the desired staff, inflicting it on their target after combat using Fists.
